All Rockhounds Pow Wow Club of America Inc.'s annual show, held at
the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Madras, Oregon, is an event you won't
want to miss. There are plenty of activities for every age group, including
rock tosses for the kid, nightly entertainment, and daily field trips
to area agate beds. Please note that membership is required for the field
trips. The club officials are great people to work with and do their best
to make their show a memorable and pleasant experience for everyone.
Field trips are tentatively scheduled
to the following beds in the Ashwood area: Friend Eggs (thundereggs
with jewely-quality agate inside), Marston Wood Replacement
(every piece is multi-colored), McDonald Wood (petrified,
agatized, or opalized Meta Sequaya), Nartz
Paulina Ridge Agate (ledge agate ranging in color from yellow
to white, which may have poka-dots or denderites), Ochs' Pony
Creek Eggs (most are filled with moss agate).
